Igbo Cultural Services in the UK (FAQ)


We’ve had loads of people message us with questions like:
“Do you know anyone who does Igbo live music?”, “Where can I get dancers for my wedding?”, “Can you help me find a language tutor?” etc etc.

This page is a resource to help you connect with experienced people in our community. We’ve worked with some of them ourselves or they come recommended. If you want to be put in touch with any of them, just fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

We don’t publish their phone numbers, but if you complete the form, we’ll pass your info directly to them so they can follow up with you. We don’t share your details with anyone else.


🎶 IGBO LIVE MUSIC & PERFORMANCE

Where can I find an Igbo live band in London?

Chima – Highlife Band (Greater London)

  • What they do: Igbo highlife band – available as full band or small set (e.g. just keys + vocalist)
  • Cost: £800 – £1,700+ depending on number of performers
  • What to provide:
    • Full event details (type of event, how long you need them, what kind of music you want)
    • Location, time, and date
    • Your budget
    • Details about what equipment you already have on site (they will need access to an audio system and may need specific plug-ins or set-up support)

Chisom – Highlife Band (Greater London)

  • What they do: Igbo highlife for weddings, birthdays, events
  • Cost: Roughly £800 – £1,700+
  • What to provide: Same as above – full details and setup support

Chidi – Masquerade Performer (Greater London)

Where can I find an Igbo Masquerade in London?

  • What they do: Brings traditional Igbo masquerades to life – for dramatic entrances, blessings or cultural events
  • Cost: Starts at £300+, depending on how many masquerades you want
  • What to provide:
    • Event details including how long the performance will last
    • A clear idea of the vibe – whether you want something family-friendly, dramatic, or intense
    • Access to speakers or a sound system to play masquerade music
    • A crate of Nigerian Guinness and a specific bottle of liquor (ask them which)
    • Space for them to perform
  • Note: Masquerades are part of a spiritual tradition. They have traditions that need to be respected. It’s best to have a clear conversation with the performer about the tone and content of the performance.


Ogechukwu – Igbo Flute Player (Greater London) ‘Oja Player’

  • What they do: Performs traditional Igbo flute music at cultural events
  • Cost: Around £400+, potentially negotiable depending on the event
  • What to provide:
    • Event details (what kind of vibe you’re going for)
    • Whether he’s playing as a solo act or alongside a band or dancers
    • Access to microphones if needed and audio equipment (if needed)


💃🏾 IGBO DANCERS IN LONDON

MK Dancers – Cultural Performers & Choreographers (Greater London)

  • What they do:
    • Perform Igbo traditional dances at events
    • Choreograph custom routines for bridal party, groomsmen, or couple
  • Cost: From £500+
    Choreography costs vary depending on the number of sessions and people involved
  • What to provide:
    • Space for them to change privately
    • Full event details (type of event, location, date, time)
    • Your budget
    • Music access for the performance
    • Info on the type of vibe you’re looking for

Precious – Private Igbo Tutor (Lagos, Nigeria – offers online classes)

  • What she offers: One-on-one Igbo language lessons
