This October, as Nigeria turns 65, we are bringing back The Nigerian Exchange with a new focus: open, honest conversation between Igbo and Edo communities.
We will be sitting down with people from Edoid backgrounds, including Bini, Esan and others, to explore both the differences and similarities between our cultures. The session will include group discussions, games, and opportunities for everyone to take part.
Topics include:
- How Igbo and Edo youth are maintaining their languages
- The impact of stereotypes on identity and relationships
- Why traditional attire is often confused or misrepresented
- Which cultural traditions are being preserved and which are disappearing
And more!
This event is for ages 18 to 35.
Refreshments will be provided.
